APT Qwik Shot® Enhancer Technology

Today's plastics industry urgently needs assistance to increase productivity and quality to offset increased costs. APT has developed a unique series of additives specifically focused at improving process times and associated variables, such as:

  • Temperatures in the injection barrel
  • Injection pressures
  • Injection rates and Injector screw recovery times
  • Cooling times
  • Cycle times
  • Power requirements

APT has developed a process enhancer additive called Qwik Shot® that is added to the resin at the barrel, and can provide significant process improvements.

“Qwik Shot ®” Anticipated Results

Overall, the re-transfer process provides a more uniform and homogenous melt rheology, that can result in:

  • Wider Process Operating Window
  • Lower Barrel Temperatures (Δ 10% -15%)
  • Higher Injection Rates
  • Improved Screw Recovery Time
  • Improved Part Release from Mold
  • Over 30% faster overall run rates
  • Reduced power consumption - kWh

APT's Enhancer Technology provides measurable process improvements, including energy savings of about 25%.
